I'm Sylvia Miranda, the artist behid Little Star Portraits.
I was born in El Salvador, where my love for portrait drawing began, showing the innate passion I had for it. As a child, I spent most of my free time sketching in pencil, the faces of the people around me.
I often submitted my sketches at school art competitions and won many of them. I loved capturing people's features and expressions, those little details that make each soul unique. Even then, I dreamed of painting- of turning those sketches into color and life.
It was not until after I moved to the United States that my life-long dream began to unfold.
I had never held a paint brush in my life, but through the knowledge and encouragment of my art mentor, Mary Pera I discovered the joy of color and brushwork. Within a year in her guidance, I built my own studio in the attic of my home. There, surrounded by brushes, light and quiet inspiration, I began painting independently, exploring the joy of color and the suble language of expression.
Art has always been an expression of love for me - the kind that fills a heart, a home, the joy of a child's sparkling eyes, the comfort of a pet's presence. These are the moments I strive to capture in my portraits: the warmth, the playfulness, the soul of those we hold dear.
After a pause of nearly ten years, I have returned to painting with a full heart and renewed purpose. Through Little Star Portraits, I hope to create keepsakes that celebrate the children and pets who light up our lives, preserving their spitit, their joy, and the special bonds they share with you - memories you can hold forever
Because every little star deserves to shine.
